As a lover of Persian Art and a collector of antique Iranian stamps from 19th century Iran, I experiment with combining images created in the Qajar era with stamps of the same period mixed in with calligraphy or poetry.
I use printing and collage techniques on wood panels or blocks that combine these images. Using colored pencil and acrylic paint, I create new, modern images that promote public awareness and appreciation of the beautiful art and culture of the Qajar era.
The
images and stamps are from:
- Qajar
Dynasty, (1794-1925)
- Naser-od-Din
Shah Qajar, (1848-1896)
- Ahmad
Shah Qajar, (1907 - 1925)
|
- Pahlavi
Dynasty, (1925 - 1979)
- Reza
Shah Pahlavi Dynasty, (1925 - 1941)
- Reza
Shah Pahlavi coronation, (April 1926)
- Mohammad
Reza Pahlavi, (1941 - 1979)
